Career

Carolina Neves Almeida heads the firm’s Customs Law practice. With 11 years of solid experience in customs litigation and advisory, she works prominently in strategic foreign trade operations: imports, exports and special customs regimes (drawback, REIDI, temporary admission, customs warehouse, RECOF, REPETRO, REPORTO, customs transit, among others) and tariff exceptions (BIT/BK, LETEC e supply disruption). She has relevant experience in legal feasibility and structuring port activities, advising Private Use Terminals (TUP) and Brazilian Shipping Companies (EBN) on regulatory and operational issues. She has extensive experience in institutional relationships with governamental agencies, such as ministries and regulatory agencies, advising companies on sensitive and highly complex regulatory issues.

She is a specialist in Tax Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a specialist in Maritime Law from the Naval War College of the Brazilian Navy.
