Carrer 

Claudio Mattos is a Partner at IW Melcheds Advogados, with extensive experience in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, Biotechnology, and Commercial Contracts. He advises domestic and international clients on strategic legal matters involving business operations, innovation, and the protection of intangible assets. 

He earned his Law degree from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (FMU) in 1991, completed a specialization in Corporate Finance at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in 1997, and obtained a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Law from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law (USA) in 1999. He also completed an international internship at Arena Pharmaceuticals in California. 

Throughout his career, he has been involved with leading scientific and intellectual property institutions, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS). He was invited by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor to participate in the Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO 2000) Committee and represented the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI) before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore in Geneva, Switzerland. 

He is the author and co-author of several publications in Brazil and abroad, focusing on biotechnology, unfair competition, trade secrets, and intellectual property law.
