The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) opened today (May 27, 2020) Public Consultation No. 35/2020, aimed at receiving subsidies and contributions for improving the Normative Resolution that will regulate Decree No. 10,350/2020 (Covid-19 Account), regarding the financial aspects caused by the state of public calamity and public health emergency resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, which have impacted electricity distribution concessions and permits.

The Covid Account, regulated by Decree No. 10,350/2020, was created to address the financial effects and impacts that the pandemic has brought to agents in the Electric Sector. Thus, mechanisms were established to inject liquidity into the sector and mitigate the impact of future increases in electricity tariffs. In the first phase of the consultation, contributions can be made until June 1, 2020, through a form available on the Agency’s website.
