Platform Promises to Transform Sports Betting Management in Brazil in Response to Ordinance No. 827, Published in May 2024

In June 2024, the Ministry of Finance announced the launch of the Betting Management System (Sigap), a platform designed to transform the management of sports betting in Brazil. This initiative is in response to Ordinance No. 827, published in May 2024, which outlined the procedures necessary for obtaining authorization to operate sports betting in the country.

Sigap allows interested parties to initiate the process of applying for authorization to conduct fixed-odds betting. Additionally, the system provides tools for monitoring responsible gambling, supervising betting activities, and managing other aspects related to the operations of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets, which is currently responsible for this area.
